Every year, an estimated 2.2 billion tons of waste is dumped in our oceans. This enormous amount of waste is a direct result of the industrial manufacturing and disposal of products that are not easily biodegradable. As if this were not bad enough news, studies have shown that this way of manufacturing is unsustainable, as we currently need 1 and ½ Earths to support our lifestyle.
At NIte Nite, we feel that it’s time to step forward, and do our part to save our planet and its environment before it’s too late. That’s why we are doing a conscious effort to ensure that all our bedding products are manufactured using sustainable fabrics that are responsibly sourced, reducing our carbon footprint and our environmental impact as a result. This is all part of our quest to care for the planet we all live in, and create a greener, more sustainable world that future generations can actually look forward to live in. You’ll see, one big part of understanding this problem is realizing that sustainability is not a one-time act, but a standing everyday commitment that starts with small habits that can make a great difference.
Non-renewable, and non-biodegradable sustainable products
Take a second to think about all the products you’ve got in your house. From your big appliances, to electronic products, clothes, or even your car. It won’t take you long to realize that many of them are not particularly eco-friendly.
Let’s use plastics as an example, as they are petroleum based and one of the most used materials of modern life. Some types of plastics are estimated to require approximately 450 years to decompose in a landfill. That’s more than 5 lifetimes for a simple bottle of water. That is, of course, if they actually end up in a landfill. The harsh reality is that many plastics end up in our oceans, affecting the sea life and creating big patches of trash that float in the ocean for decades.
Polyester, for instance, is a manufactured synthetic fiber derived from carbon-intensive, non-renewable, and non-biodegradable resources. This synthetic fabric takes around 20 to 200 years to decompose, polluting marine bodies and
harming the environment in the process. That’s right, your fast fashion is not so fast when it comes to decomposing. It will actually stay in this planet longer than you will.
Organic fabrics
At Nite Nite, we only manufacture our products using bamboo Lyocell and bamboo Viscose, two premium organic fabrics that are known for providing incredible levels of silk like softness while also being sustainable and not using any harmful chemicals in their manufacturing process. This means ultimate quality and unrivaled sustainability at the same time.

Caring for our environment
As we mentioned before, when it comes to caring for our environment, it’s these kinds of small steps that can compound over time to make a big difference.
You can choose what kind of life you want to lead today, and create a positive impact in your community by choosing what kind of products you use, raising awareness to all the people around you about the importance of our commitment to care for this planet, the only place we call home.
